We purchase jewelry from sustainable markets all over the world, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Thailand, Tahiti, Israel, Lithuania, Estonia, Israel, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Costa Rica, Kenya, Tanzania, Romania, Switzerland, Trinidad and South Africa. We rely on friends (mostly former au pairs!) and other contacts from the international community in Washington, and of course, the world has become flat thanks to the internet.

We also buy close-outs and resale them. We checked out Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Lord & Taylor, and some stand-alone jewelry stores in Friendship Heights, and they are selling the very same items, at the suggested retail price. Of course, they have much higher overhead, but it was great to know that we are selling what the big stores have (I did not, however, go to Tiffany's :-) The stores also carried the more expensive name-brand watches, but again, at much higher prices.
Chevy Chase Jewelry is a new, small family business, so we are starting out by just sending notice to friends, and asking them to forward it on to their friends who might be interested. We hope you agree that there are some good deals and some pretty things. Most items are priced between 60%-80% off “suggested retail prices,” which can be confirmed by visiting the websites of Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom's, Bloomingdales, Macy's, Dillards, Saks Fifth Ave and other fine stores. You will see that these stores are selling the exact same items for 2-3 times more. Especially in today's economy, there is no sense paying three times more for the exact same thing you can buy at fancy stores Friendship Heights!
We do not maintain inventory of items over $500.00 (we are a small business), but we are able to obtain higher priced items for you upon request. You will also notice that the items do not automatically come with certificates of authenticity, however, we invite you to confirm that anything you purchase is authentic, and if it is not, we will happy to give you a full refund.
We intend to add items frequently as we learn more about creating this online store and webpage, so please check back daily. There are also a lot of pieces that can be matched as sets. We have listed potential sets individually to provide you with the most flexibility.

Chevy Chase Jewelry is assuming most purchases (if any!) will be in DC. If so, we can easily work out delivery (or just meet at Starbucks!). If you are out of town, please give us your address and we can give you an estimate of shipping. Shipping generally runs about $8.00 (priority mail with insurance). Of course we will combine shipping, and work out the best way to get you your jewelry.
